WHY I TEACH

I’m a 500 hour RYT (meaning I’ve been submerged in 500 hours of yoga teacher training) and certified kids yoga teacher that has been practicing since 2012. I’m committed to bringing mindful, slower paced, powerful, vigorous, and playful yoga to ALL ages. I teach to share the magic that comes from the tools and wisdom of yoga that has sprinkled even more joy and connection into my life.

I believe that deep study towards mastery is a worthwhile effort. Although mastery is a relative term, the pursuit is where the fruit lies. Through my studies of the anatomical access to the postures and the philosophical roots of the practice, you can expect both intelligent alignment cuing and tools to shape your perspective in life. Beyond teacher certifications, I continue to grow in my studies through additional training:

All Day Immersion, Baptiste Institute
Art of Assisting, Baptiste Institute
Advanced Art of Assisting, Baptiste Institute

I love to teach to both kids and adults, and the classes are exactly the same; the only difference is kids that are just more communicative about what’s going on:

MISTER BEN, AM I DOING IT RIGHT? IS MY FOOT TOUCHING MY HEAD YET? CAN WE DO HEADSTAND NOW? I FORGOT MY WATER AGAIN. MY LEG IS SHAKING! THIS IS SO HARD. THIS IS SO FUN!

Aren’t kids the best? Now, reread the above quote again, and notice that it’s the same thing as what you might be saying as an adult to yourself in your head. #weareallbigkids. From this unique perspective of teaching to kids, I’m able to share with my adults the magic of listening to your body, open communication, and being in awe, just like you’re a kid again. So join me in one of my classes.
